Have you wondered when one spec supersedes another? Have you agonized over how to meet or understand customer specifications? Fastener Specifications & Terminology will address these questions while providing progress toward CFS eligibility. In this course, attendees learn about the consensus standards of organizations that govern the fastener industry and receive a thorough grounding in the terms and definitions used in fastener specifications. Participants study specifications and learn how to identify and meet customer and industry requirements. CURRICULUM INCLUDES•Consensus standards organizations (ASTM, SAE, ANSI, IFI, ISO, ASME and more)•Terms and definitions used in fastener specifications•The ability to identify and meet customer and industry requirements•Actual specification studiesWHO SHOULD ATTENDOne-day CFS classes are best for those wanting to spread out training rather than completing an accelerated format through Fastener Training Week. The series of seven CFS classes/plant tours can be taken in any order. Given the advanced technical nature of this program, it is highly recommended that participants have at least two years of experience in fastener sales, purchasing, manufacturing or quality assurance OR have completed FTI’s three-part Product Training Program, available through our Online Learning Library.
