TOPICS INCLUDE Platings, coatings, finishes and surface treatments including zinc plating, hot dip galvanizing, dip spin, mechanical zinc, black oxide, cadmium and more Fastener finish standards - ASTM, ISO, automotive, military, and aerospace Tests used for corrosion resistance capability and coating thickness Controlling risks when plating fasteners - hydrogen embrittlement, torque-tension, thread fit and drive fit Stainless steel fasteners - when they are the best choice, the only choice or a bad choice Other materials that combat corrosion – Monel, type 3 Steel, copper alloys, super alloys, aluminum and plastic Th K factor - why it is the most important consideration when selecting a corrosion fighting strategy Passivation – it seems simple, but it is not What’s new in fastener finish technology WHO SHOULD ATTEND This fastener training program is technical, and standards based, but is suitable for all levels of experience in the fastener industry.
