This class covers practical skills for fastener inspection - including how to select and apply sampling plans, operate inspection instruments and interpret engineering prints and specifications during both inspections and test report reviews. Participants will also learn about Quality Management Systems and the inspection of critical fastener features such as threads, drives, and recesses. CURRICULUM INCLUDES • Essential elements of a fastener supplier (QMS) • The most important fastener quality standards • Risk management – what you must inspect and what you can inspect • When and how to get outside help • Fastener supply chain and essential records • Understanding fastener certifications and test reports • How to best communicate with other quality professionals • Most common causes of fastener quality complaints and how to prevent them • How to develop the fastener quality professional within you • Fastener quality technical resources • What gets us in trouble WHO SHOULD ATTEND One-day CFS classes are best for those wanting to spread out training rather than completing an accelerated format through Fastener Training Week. The series of seven CFS classes/plant tours can be taken in any order. Given the advanced technical nature of this program, it is highly recommended that participants have at least two years of experience in fastener sales, purchasing, manufacturing or quality assurance OR have completed FTI’s three-part Product Training Program, available through our Online Learning Library.
